The outright lap record was lifted to 127.68 mph by John McGuinness, who went on to take wins in the Formula 1, Junior TT and Lightweight 400, to join TT greats Hailwood, Dunlop, Hislop and Jefferies in the elite hat-trick club.

Bruce Anstey, Ryan Farquhar and Adrian Archibald also took race wins whilst Dave Molyneux clocked up a record-equaling 10th sidecar win.
